  • Lesson 4: Interpretation

After learning a process for observing biblical texts, this lesson provides tools for coming to conclusions about what those texts meant when God first inspired them. You will learn about literary and historical context, as well as how to draw evidence from them in order to make conclusions on the text’s most likely meaning. The lesson also presents the process of doing a word study to identify the potential meaning of biblical words.

This lesson aims to equip you to:

    1. Explain how context determines meaning.
    2. Utilize literary, historical, and cultural contexts to identify more and less likely meanings of biblical texts.
    3. Complete a word study to determine the range of meaning for a Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek word used in the Bible.
