  • Lesson 4: Body Sharpening

In this Lesson, Dr. Steve Deneff moves beyond the individual to address the role that the community of faith plays in our movement toward holiness. Rev. Deneff highlights how American culture, in its hyper-individualism, often loses the role that the body of Christ plays in our sanctification, the process of us becoming more holy. Rather, the body of Christ is a place where we “bump into each other” in a way that knocks the “dirt” off us.

This Lesson aims to equip you to:

    1. Identify ways in which the individualism of the Western world and America, in particular, may make it difficult for us to see the importance of the body of Christ in our sanctification.
    2. Appreciate the way in which the community of faith helps perfect us to become more and more like Christ.
