I am in agreement with your analysis of the house church model, and I would also be curious to see where/why you feel that people have 'the underlying assumption that before the return of Jesus we will be back in this style of church'? I have certainly heard this thought expressed by other as well, but am curious as to when, how and even why this has come to be an underlying methodology of thought that has begun to be more widely accepted. Not saying that it is wrong, just moreso curious as to where it comes from...there seems to be a different answer from everyone who is a proponent of this thought. (ie: Everyone doesn't say "Oh, we get it from this scripture".)
