I appreciate your willingness to open up and to share these raw emotions, Becky. Certainly as you mentioned, the doctrine of purgatory is one that leaves more questions than answers. You mentioned that your grandmother was fearful that perhaps she would not be admitted to Heaven on account of her family's lack of 'support' after death. I find comfort in the fact that our admittance into Heaven is not based on the merits of our own lives, and certainly not on the merits of other people 'praying hard enough' for us!
I am very moved by your expressing the desire to teach your children the truth, and to avoid making 'seeing daddy again' an idol. I am praying you will find the right words to share these truths with them so that they may keep the ultimate goal in mind--admittance into Heaven for their own sake, not so that they may reunite with those gone before.
