Discussion: Your NT Journey

Completion requirements

What does the Bible mean for you? Right now? Is it your go-to reference for answers to life's problems? Is it something you try to remember to pickup before going to church on Sunday? Perhaps it "lives" in an app that you use when ever a reference is made. If I stop to think about what the Bible meant to me less than 30 years ago, I can confidently tell you it held a far different purpose in my life than what it does today.

But what about you? Not your "politically correct", "what does the instructor expect me to say" answer, but the real, raw truth about how you view and interact with the Bible. There are no wrong answers here.

  • First, watch the video, What is the Bible?
  • Second, in your journal,
    • Reflect on why you are taking this course and what you hope to learn.
    • Consider where you are right now. What is your current understanding of the Bible?
    • Note any beliefs you currently hold about the Bible. For example, do you see it as being the word of God?
    • Answer these two questions candidly: Do you read it? Do you apply it in your life?
  • Third, in about 200 words, using the discussion forum below, share
    • One thing you hope to learn during this class, and
    • Something you found interesting in your journal reflections.
  • Finally, respond to 2 of your peers with words of encouragement.
