About the Instructor: Rev. Zach Szmara serves as the Pastor of The Bridge Community Church in Logansport, Indiana, and is the Founder and Executive Director of Immigrant Connection, offering immigration legal services.

Course Description: In this course, you will learn about what the Bible says about immigrants as well as how the people of God are called to engage with foreign-born neighbors. Merging a deep-rooted understanding of hospitality and care for the foreigner with an overview of the intricacies of modern-day immigration processes, this course provides a biblical perspective on immigrants and immigration. It also provides tools for deep self-reflection on one’s values, assumptions, and perspectives, while also providing practical action steps towards transformation. With a focus on biblical values, you will gain insights that will support you to rise above political arguments and commit to living out Christ’s mandate to love and journey with immigrants.
