  • Lesson 3: Immigration Myths

This lesson dives into some of the misconceptions about immigration that exist. For example, while we might want to commend ourselves for being a nation of immigrants, American history is full of resistance to immigration. We just couldn’t stop it, although many wanted to try. Similarly, the American immigration system is so broken that a concept like “getting in line” turns out to be nearly impractical.

This lesson aims to equip you to:

    1. Describe the story of American immigration with its wins and warts.
    2. Explain some ways in which the current immigration system is broken and needs to be fixed.
