Lesson 2 Reflection Activities

Completion requirements

There are specific amounts of people that we can know to various levels:

  • Deep and close knowing: 3-12 people
  • Rallying to a cause knowing: 50 people
  • We can track/follow some level of information: 150 people
  • We know on a first name basis but don’t know much information: 500 people

We can shepherd more people some, but we MUST shepherd some people more. Our first step is to identify the people that are in our inner circle of 3-12. This is a focused look, not simply at your organization, but at the people in your organization. When we try to identify this group for ourselves, we can look at particular indicators: proximity, some kind of pull, and passion for the person.

  1. Write down all of the names of the people in this group for you. If you have more than twelve, then you may need to be more discerning about which people God has given you a passion for and called you to shepherd deeply. If you have less than 3, your may need to consider why you are limiting yourself from investing deeply in the lives of others.
  2. Spend two weeks praying for every person on your list, every day. Reflect on what insights God has revealed to you after pursuing these people with prayer. For each person on your list, write down what you imagine God wants to do in that person’s life. What next steps are becoming obvious to you with each person?
  3. Add your submission below.
