Lesson 2 Practice

Take some time to reflect on your attitudes toward the “other.” Are there any subtle or subconscious ways that you act or think of others as less important or less valuable than your own group? You might not say it out loud or maybe even normally admit it to yourself, but pray and examine yourself. “Lord, is there any group I do not love as you love?” It could be someone with a different national origin or someone of a different race or color. Do I subconsciously dehumanize any other group of people? 

This is a journey of self-awareness we are only just beginning. Simply telling God that we are willing for him to reveal to us the true disposition of our hearts is the beginning of the journey.
