Completion requirements

Isaiah 52:13 - 53:12 is a prophecy about the Messiah, Jesus, who is described as the Lord's "Servant." Listed here are the first and last verses of this poem.

52:13

See, my servant will act wisely;

he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.

… 

53:12

Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, 

and he will divide the spoils with the strong,

because he poured out his life unto death,

and was numbered with the transgressors.

For he bore the sin of many,

and made intercession for the transgressors.

  • Imagine living in the time of Isaiah (about 700 BC). If these two verses were all you knew about the Messiah, what would you say about this person? What kind of a Messiah would you be expecting if you only read these two verses?
