Completion requirements
Pastor Zach Szmara was led by God to form an organization known as Immigrant Connection. Its mission is to help provide greater access to high-quality, low-cost immigration legal services across the US. They believe that all families and communities thrive more when immigrant families have access to benevolent legal services. Most of all, they see these services as an expression of their Christian faith, a living out of the gospel. .
The Immigrant Connection Legal Network is made up of Local Immigrant Connection Sites across the country. Its sites are based in both rural and urban areas and are established in under-resourced communities in order to best serve the needs of immigrant families. Across 35+ Local Immigrant Connection Sites, 75+ Department of Justice accredited legal representatives and other legal staff provide immigration legal services to immigrant families. Its sites and staff have served over 30,000 immigrant families since 2014.
Immigration law is complicated. Immigrant Connection is not about the politics of immigration. Rather, it is about helping individuals and families navigate existing immigration law and pathways. For immigrants, maintaining or obtaining lawful immigration status is foundational to everything else in their lives and in their families. Immigrant Connection is committed to journeying with immigrants through complex immigration legal processes so that immigrants can build their futures on a foundation of stability and strength.
God may call some of you to undergo this training. For others, God may be calling you to give or to pray for those serving in this way. We can disagree on the details. We cannot disagree on the values if we are Christ-followers who are obedient to Scripture.
